Nerve Fresh Review: Five Calming Herbs Sold to "Reverse Neuropathy" by a Paid Actor

Nerve Fresh is a capsule sold to "Reverse Neuropathy Damage" and "Ditch Gabapentin". Its label, published on the seller's brand store, lists five herbs: passionflower 350 mg, marshmallow root 220 mg, corydalis 200 mg, prickly pear 100 mg and California poppy 90 mg. None has a human trial for nerve pain. Its spokesman, "Dr. James Haleford", is described in the site's own disclaimer as a "Pen Name and a paid actor". An earlier version of this review said CNN reported deepfake videos of Dr. Sanjay Gupta promoting a related product. That was wrong: CNN's reports named no product, and we have removed the claim.

Our Assessment

Herbs for calm and sleep, sold as a cure for nerve damage.

Nerve Fresh's label lists passionflower, marshmallow root, corydalis, prickly pear and California poppy, 960 mg in total. Passionflower has small trials for anxiety. Corydalis has a pain study in healthy volunteers and rodent studies of nerve pain. California poppy has been tested only in combination products for sleep and anxiety. We found no human trial of any of these for peripheral neuropathy. The ingredient with the best evidence for diabetic nerve pain, alpha-lipoic acid at 600 mg a day, is not in Nerve Fresh, although many review sites list it.

The sales video is headlined "Award winning D.C. Nerve Specialist - 'Ditch Gabapentin' - Do This 9-Second Trick Daily To Reverse Neuropathy Damage". The specialist is "James Haleford". The site's disclaimer says: "Out actor uses is a Pen Name and a paid actor to protect the original identity of the author", and "Testimonials may be re-enactments by paid actors". The NPI registry has no doctor of that name. The same testimonial appears from "Fresno, CA" on one site and "Boston, MA" on another.

An earlier version of this review said Nerve Fresh was linked to AI deepfake videos of Dr. Sanjay Gupta "documented by CNN". CNN's July 2025 reports showed a fake Gupta ad for an Alzheimer's "honey" remedy and named no product. A MalwareTips article links "Nerve Fresh 24" to Gupta deepfakes but offers no evidence. We have removed the claim and apologize for the error.

What We Liked

  • The label with doses is published on the seller's brand store
  • No stimulants
  • 180-day refund advertised on the sales page

What Gave Us Pause

  • No human trials of any ingredient for neuropathy
  • Tells people to "Ditch Gabapentin", a prescription drug
  • Its "nerve specialist" is a pen name played by a paid actor, per the site's own disclaimer
  • Promises to "Reverse Neuropathy Damage"
  • The sales page says "5 vital… extracts with essential vitamin and mineral support"; the label has no vitamins or minerals
  • Refund terms vary: 180 days, "2 months", a 90-day badge, and 60 days on the brand store
  • Return shipping at your cost; the terms refuse "a 6 month supply of empty product containers after only 1 or 2 months"

Consider It If

  • We cannot name a group of buyers this is a good fit for.

Skip It If

  • You take gabapentin, pregabalin or other prescribed nerve pain medication (do not stop without your doctor)
  • You take sedatives, sleep medication or drink alcohol in the evening (passionflower, California poppy, corydalis)
  • You are pregnant or nursing
  • You have diabetes and new numbness or a foot wound (see a doctor promptly)

Overview

What is Nerve Fresh and who sells it?

Nerve Fresh is sold on nervefresh.com with its own checkout, taking cards and PayPal. The domain, registered in May 2024, is publicly registered to "James Haleford" and "Nerve Fresh" at a Jacksonville mailbox. The label gives Miami Beach, the privacy policy Brandon, Florida, and returns go to a ShipOffers warehouse in Aurora, Colorado. Earlier versions of the site listed Premier Vitality's email and phone, and Premier Vitality's store sells Nerve Fresh and publishes its label. Premier Vitality previously sold NeuroPure, with an almost identical formula.

NerveCalm, another product we review, contains the same five herbs at about half the doses. The sales video claims the formula was developed from "medical studies from top universities" and shows Johns Hopkins, Columbia, Brown and Harvard logos.

Pricing & Value

No single bottle, and four different refund windows.

On October 4, 2026, nervefresh.com offered the packages below, all with free shipping and as one-time charges. The FAQ still says six bottles cost "$49 per bottle". The brand store sells single bottles at $69.

The sales page promises a "180 Day 100% Money-Back Guarantee" and, a few lines later, a refund "at any point in the next 2 months". The checkout shows a "90 days money back" badge, and the brand store says 60 days. The terms cover "defective" products within 180 days, say the buyer pays return shipping, and state: "WE WILL NOT ACCEPT A 6 MONTH SUPPLY OF EMPTY PRODUCT CONTAINERS AFTER ONLY 1 OR 2 MONTHS." Pay by card or PayPal so you can dispute the charge if needed.

Safety & Buyer Notes

Do not stop prescribed nerve pain medicine.

Gabapentin and pregabalin should not be stopped suddenly; doing so can cause withdrawal symptoms and, rarely, seizures. Talk to your doctor before changing any nerve pain treatment. Passionflower, California poppy and corydalis can cause drowsiness and add to the effect of sedatives, sleep aids, opioids and alcohol.

Numbness, burning or tingling in the feet can come from diabetes, vitamin B12 deficiency, alcohol, medication or other causes that need diagnosis. People with diabetes should have foot symptoms and any wounds checked promptly.

  • Never stop gabapentin or pregabalin without your doctor
  • Drowsiness: avoid with sedatives, sleep aids, opioids and alcohol
  • Get new numbness or tingling diagnosed
  • Not for pregnancy, nursing or under 18s, per the label

Limits of This Review

What we could not verify

This review is desk research. We have not bought or tested Nerve Fresh. We checked the seller's pages, the label on premvitality.com, domain records, the NPI registry, CNN and MalwareTips, Trustpilot, Scam Detector, ScamAdviser and the published research on October 4, 2026.

  • Who the real author behind "James Haleford" is.
  • Whether the biography on the about page belongs to a real doctor. We do not repeat it.
  • Whether deepfake ads have been used to sell "Nerve Fresh 24". MalwareTips says so but shows no evidence.
  • Upsell offers after checkout.
  • Whether the product has helped anyone. We found no controlled study of Nerve Fresh itself.

FAQ

Common questions about Nerve Fresh.

Does Nerve Fresh work for neuropathy?

There is no study of Nerve Fresh, and none of its five herbs has a human trial for neuropathy. They are mostly studied for anxiety, sleep or other uses.

Who is Dr. James Haleford?

The website's disclaimer says its presenter uses "a Pen Name and a paid actor to protect the original identity of the author". We found no doctor of that name in the US NPI registry.

Did CNN report on Nerve Fresh?

No. CNN reported in July 2025 that deepfake videos of Dr. Sanjay Gupta were used to sell fake health cures, but named no product. Our earlier review wrongly linked that report to Nerve Fresh.

Does Nerve Fresh contain alpha-lipoic acid?

No. The label lists only passionflower, marshmallow root, corydalis, prickly pear and California poppy. Pages claiming otherwise are wrong.

Bottom Line

Calming herbs and a paid actor. Avoid it.

Nerve Fresh sells five herbs with no neuropathy evidence as a way to reverse nerve damage and drop prescribed medication, presented by a doctor the site admits is an actor.

If you have nerve pain, see your doctor about the cause and the treatments that work. Alpha-lipoic acid has the best supplement evidence for diabetic nerve pain; ask your doctor whether it suits you.
